We use high-purity quartz glass for a very practical reason: bathroom accidents. If the glass isn’t pure, one stray splash of cold water on a hot bulb and pop—the tube cracks. High-purity glass handles that thermal shock without breaking a sweat. One quick tip: keep your reflectors polished. If they get dull or oxidized, you lose efficiency. You’ll end up cranking the heat higher just to feel the same warmth, which just wears the lamp out faster. Finding the sweet spot Here’s the trade-off. Because we’ve filtered out the harsh light, you might not feel that “instant punch” of heat you get from a raw halogen tube. That means your mounting height is everything. If you hang the heater too high, the warmth just vanishes before it reaches you. Too low, and you’re risking a surface burn. It’s all about the balance between your ceiling height and the wattage.
