
Keeping You Warm Without Blinding You
When we set out to build 1500W ceiling heaters for bathrooms and gazebos, we ran into a pretty annoying problem. See, in these spots, the heater is usually sitting right over your head. If you use a basic short-wave halogen lamp, it’s like staring into a miniature sun. It’s harsh. It causes eye strain. And if you’ve got a baby in the house, that kind of intense glare is a real concern since their eyes are still developing. Nobody wants to feel like they’re under an interrogation lamp just to stay warm. The trick to fixing the glare We figured out how to tweak the light. By changing the filament material and adding some special coatings to the quartz glass, we basically filter out those piercing blue-light peaks. The result? A much softer glow. You still get the full 1500W of heat, but we’ve pushed that energy into the mid- and long-wave infrared bands. These waves soak into your skin and warm you up, but they don’t stress out your retinas. It feels natural. The nitty-gritty on the hardware We stuck with 1500W because it’s the sweet spot. It’s powerful enough to fight off a chilly breeze in an open gazebo, but it won’t blow your circuit breaker the second you flip the switch. We also use high-grade quartz envelopes so the filament doesn’t just give up the ghost after a few weeks of turning it on and off. Now, here is the honest truth: filtering the light does make the heater a tiny bit less efficient than a raw, uncoated lamp. You lose a sliver of that “instant” heat penetration. But for us, that’s a trade we’re happy to make. Safety and comfort always win over a few percentage points of raw power. Getting it installed We kept these units compact so they don’t take over your entire ceiling. They’re designed to slide right into standard fixtures without any fuss. One quick tip for when you’re wiring it up: just double-check that your mounting bracket can handle the weight of the quartz assembly. You don’t want to look up in six months and see your heater starting to sag.
